10 Year Old Girl's B-day Ideas

There is a place in Southlake Town Square called Sweet and Sassy. IT's a salon for kids and they do birthday parties where the girls can have their hair and nails done.
It's near the Container Store. Or, there are places in Dowtown Historical Keller, you know where all the small shops are? I think there are places that have tea parties.

There's a place in NRH, I think, or maybe Colleyville, where you can select a piece of pottery, paint it, have it fired and glazed and then pick it up a couple of days later. If your daughter and her friends went there, they'd all have a permanent souvenir of the day! We went several months ago and had a great time. The girls that work there can help with ideas and "techniques," if anyone wants to get fancy. And you can choose from coffee mugs, plates, bowls, figurines ... lots of different things. It was about $6 for a cup and $8 for a bowl, so not terribly expensive if you don't buy the fancy pieces. The place is called Pepe le Potter. Have a great party!!

What about a scrapbooking party? The Scrapbook Pad in Colleyville has birthday parties. It's pretty popular for girls aged 8-12. Their website is www.scrapbookpad.com.

HEllo, I have a 10 year old who celebrated her birthday at Libby Lu, Not sure what you are wanting to spend or how far it would be for you, but the girls had so much fun and you don't have to have a certain amount of kids. The girls get there hair fixed and they pick the style, they get their nails painted and they dress up and learn a song and dance routine and perform it in the store and then they get to pick 5 items (lip gloss, hair items, pens, socks, etc.) to take home in a cute Libby Lu backpack. There is also a store called Sweet & Sassy which is similar to Libby Lu. Both stores have websites. I hope this helps.

I gave my son a sleepover on his 10th birthday and we used the theme movie night. I went all out. I rented a DLP projector that displayed the movie on the wall almost like in the movie theater. I hung movie reels from the ceiling, served food on popcorn plates, I had real popcorn boxes for popcorn and movie candy. I made nachos, hot dogs etc. I wish I would have gotten a cotton candy machine.. lol.. I made my son's invitation in publisher and it was like a brochure. The first page looked like a movie ticket and we used our last name as the name of our theatre. For goodie bags I used these plastic popcorn bags I found at party cites and filled them with movie candy, misc. toys, etc. We played a game called I am Famous, Who am I and I just printed names of famous people I know they like and a hint under each name. I put the sticker on their back and made them turn around and put the kids in teams. They had a lot of fun. The party was last summer and my son says his friends are still talking about it.

I have heard that lots of moms are having sleepovers for girls at hotels. My daughter is six so we haven't been to one yet. You could do a spa sleepover etc.

My daughter and I went to a birthday party at Sweet & Sassy yesterday and had such a great time. They picked out outfits to wear, got their nails polished, makeup applied and their hair put in updos. Then they danced and had a runway fashion show. I took lots of great photos and we both had a blast. You also could make a birthday party around something of special importance to her. If she likes baseball, maybe a Rangers game would be in order or something along those lines. You have so many things you can do to make it even more special and designed especially for her. We live in Hurst and our daughter just turned 10. To be honest this was our first time to have a b-day living in a house. So she really wanted a house party. We called JJ's Jumpers her in the mid-cities and rented a cotton candy machine, a popcorn machine, a spin art machine, and the 3-n-1 bounce house. The girls had a blast. They all slept over that night as well. Next year she wants to do a spa party at a salon. I know of seventeen spa and sweet - n - sassy. I also heard you can do parties at the great wolf lodge.

I think a fun party is all about the details not necessarily the location. If you have a nice home take advantage of it. But I think a diva party would be cool. Get them some fun outfits they can get all dressed up in and have them make their own music video. You can hang up a couple of sheets or curtains behind them for a fun backdrop! Of course you can incorporate doing hair fun and crazy. The cake and food can all be themed around that. Sleepovers are always popular for this age. We had a party at the NYTEX Ice Skating facility (across the street from Birdville High School). Its a great idea for a party if you want both boys and girls to attend.

She took their Spa Party idea and she did it all herself. There were recipes for chocolate nachos and other items. I bought the ingredients and the girls made the treats. I also bought some clear plastic tumblers at party city and some ribbons, sequins, and beads for them to decorate the cups for girly pencil/pen cups. I also bought her a bunch of tiny nail polishes and pedicure equipment. They did their nails and toes. They played games that were in the American Girls book and just had a blast.

Take her for a weekend get-away. B-day parties are fine but a quick vacation with family is more memorable and special. Use the money for souvenirs rather than party supplies and make a photo album of your trip.

There are a lot of quick destinations close to the metroplex with inexpensive hotels, etc. Enjoy!

When my daughter turned 10 we did a spa party. I made reservations and took them to a local nail salon to get manicures and a nini-pedicure. The girls loved it and it was about $9 per girl.

I am not sure where you live, but in Keller, on Main street, there is a darling little place that caters to girls. OMG I am going to have to drive by and see what it is called.
Anyway...
If she is a girlie girl, you can have a manicure party and watch girlie movies and do hair and act silly!
