10 Year Old Boy Party

You could do a baseball themed party and rent a shelter near a diamond. Do it late in the afternoon/early evening and then roast out some hot dogs and have cupcakes. It seems he likes that already and you could do an easy pick-up game, just have the guests bring their own gloves and borrow a few from family in case people forget them.

I'd say really anything active with 10 year old boys will be a hit, no pun intented...really! :)

Just another vote for Advanced Laser Tag in Olathe. We did my son's ninth birthday party there and they are fabulous. You just show up with goody bags and they do everything else. It's awesome!

My son also went to the Dickinson Movie Theatre in Lee's Summit - they have a movie/laser tag party package. He loved it.

We had a laser tag party for my son's 9th birthday at a place in Lee's Summit that apparently has gone out of business. The boys had so much fun that he wanted to do it again, so we ended up driving from Warrensburg to Advanced Laser Tag in Olathe for his 11th birthday (his last BIG party too). They had a BLAST!! We only had 12 boys, so with 20 it will get pricey if you feed them there too and get arcade tokens, but frankly I think you could skip that part. They provide a cake or cookie cake and drinks as part of the party packages and pizza is optional. There is another laser tag place up north called Jaeger's that looked good too, but I have not been there. They do paintball parties as well, so we might try that someday.

Have you been to the NCAA Basketball Experience at the Sprint Center? It's really cool for all ages. And it will let the boys get their energy out while keeping adults cool with plenty for them to look at.

Powerplay in Shawnee is awesome! They have many different sized party rooms, pizza, cake, video games, laser tag, go carts, etc. The kids had so much fun!

My SIL rented a bounce house water slide...it was 32' long and 12' wide...6 people could practically go down it at once! Adults and kids were having a great time on it! In addition my BIL inflated a ton of water balloons for balloon fights...it was a really fun day despite it being really hot!

powerplay in shawnee is a suggestion. Also bowling at park lanes in Shawnee; they have party rooms and party helpers, at both places. One year we did a fishing party at Shawnee mission park. we reserved a shelter and found some inexpensive fishing poles (which everyone left with as the party favors) Kids don't need fishing licenses. It was a blast!

we have 2 kids that have summer birthdays and 1 in the winter. We prefer the summer ones and have outside activities. The best ones are with water involved. We usually have each kid bring their own water guns, wear swimsuits and bring a towel. We set up a small pool in the middle of the yard which is the pool they will use to fill their water guns up and they play watergun wars. They really have fun squirting anyone that is trying to refill their water gun. That is like no mans land and when you need a refill you are a major target for everyone that still has water. The pool in the middle helps keep the kids from running in and out of the house to refill their water guns, it also keeps them from using the water hose to fill them. We would buy the cheap water guns I think there are 5 in a pack at the dollar store. The cheap ones were for any kids that forgot to bring their own.
Water balloon games are also fun. You can also do water relays where you have small bowls or cups and fill them with water, they have to balance them on their heads and walk across the yard to the bucket on the other side and dump their water in the bucket. The team that gets their bucket full first wins. Have a scavenger hunt-- get your neighbors involved and ask them if you can hide things in their yards for the hunt. A swimming party can also be fun. We have also had parties at the park and had over 40 people come as we invited the families so the parents and kids came. We would bbq hotdogs and hamburgers, have potato salad, baked beans, chips, watermelon, and cupcakes for the food. For games we did pin the tail and hung it on a tree, pinata, and they played on the playground. The park parties were easier as the playground keeps them entertained.
The indoor parties aren't as much fun and seems like you have to entertain them constantly to keep them busy and not trashing your house with going to every kids room and pulling out all the toys and running through the house everywhere. We play Disney Trivia, Cranium--pull out the easier cards that younger kids would know or get the child edition, charades, or other group type games. Twister is usually a hit and if you have more than 4 kids then you want to get more twister games and have them all playing it at the same time. Pictionary can be fun too. With big groups we just use the cards and make up 2 teams, then give points to the team that guesses the answer--more like win, lose, or draw which used to be a game show on tv.

Have fun and plan well. You need to have enough activities to keep the kids entertained for at least 1 1/2 hours. This can be a challenge. The presents and cake will only take about 1/2 hour and I usually do the cake right before opening presents at the end of the party. My sis-in-law had the kids sit at the table when they arrived and had a lot of art supplies out for them to make the birthday child a card. This kept the kids busy for at least 20 minutes and helped keep them in one area while all the kids were arriving. Some of the kids made more than one card for their parents or siblings so they took those home with them. You could also put out some coloring sheets that go with the party theme to keep them busy.

Good Morning M., Great ideas you have already, thats for sure. Only thing that popped into my noggin' was the Water Park around KC. They probably have a party group rate.
Unless your son's party plans are to be a surpirse as to what you will be doing, take the idea's given and ask him what He would like to do for his last big bash!!

I rent our church for a cheap price. The kids favorite 2 parties. One I rented the whole Bridgeton Pool. We had almost 100 people there.
The other I had a magician at the church.
My son is thinking about having another bowling party this year.

how about the water park in highland or the paintball park in caseyville both sound fun and there both indoors in the air

You may want to ask at your local Fire Department. Most of them will allow a sleep over party (with a parent). I think they do it for free or maybe a small donation. I live in Ozark and work in Nixa and both of them do this for kids.
You supply the food, cake, sleeping bags etc.
Sounds like a good party for a 10 yr old little boy.

We took a group of kids the same age as yours to the Arabia Steamboat Museum after an easy lunch with cake somewhere so they were not crabby from hunger. Everyone loved it! Fun for that age on up - had grandparents with us, also. Call first for times, of course. Good luck!

do you have an Incredible Pizza place near? They have indoor go-carts, bumper cars, ride simulators at the one in Springfield. We went to a putt-putt place in Independence one year during our KC vacation (hubby used to live near it, the one with lots of windmills.)

It's Party Time on Watson is a fun place to have a party. Check it out if you are in St. Louis. We went to a party there and my kids still talk about it.
